Reiki is a form of energy therapy, which involves the transfer of energy, traditionally with the use of hands, to the energy fields around the body. It is aimed to help the flow of energy in the body and remove blocks, in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. That can enable relaxation, reduce pain, and assist in healing. Reiki has been around for thousands of years, while its current form was first developed by a Japanese Buddhist by the name of Mikao Usui. The practice then spread to the US, through Hawaii, in the 1940s, and then to Europe in the 1980s. My personal journey with Reiki has shown me, for many years now, that there is something beyond what we can see and that feels good because it comes from love and light.
