Breathwork

A breath. A rhythm. The pulse of Life

Breathwork offers a direct way to explore how you feel in your body and how you meet the moment.

You might be looking for space around stress, a way to settle after a demanding day, or an experience with energy and movement. Different sessions offer different starting points.

SOMA Breath

Rhythmic breathing and music form the centre of a guided experience that can also include movement, voice and stillness. SOMA Breath invites a change of state: a shift in how you feel mentally, emotionally and energetically. Depending on the practice, you may find greater calm, a sense of uplift, or renewed energy and connection.

There is room for regular practice and for a fuller group journey. Some experiences are quiet and inward; others invite expression, play and the pleasure of moving together.

Guided breath retention is a central part of SOMA Breath journeys and its Daily Dose practice. Rhythmic breathing alternates with breath holds, which can create intermittent hypoxia: brief periods of reduced blood oxygen, followed by recovery through normal breathing. Together, these practices offer a way to explore greater calm, focus and vitality. This is distinct from gentle everyday breathing; the duration and intensity are adapted with care to your health, experience and the session’s purpose.

Everyday breathing practice

Functional breathwork begins with how you breathe in everyday life: at rest, in movement and under pressure. In both private and group sessions, we explore breathing habits and practices in relation to physical health, fitness and your ability to breathe comfortably and efficiently.

Breath can also be part of mental training: a way to practise attention, support emotional and nervous-system regulation, and meet stress with more capacity. You explore which practices help you settle, which support alertness, and how to use them in the situations that matter to you.

From a breathwork journey

“When I started, I was really confused, but during the journey I experienced an indescribable clarity!”
